A Flexible Preschool System for Every Child: Diversifying Early Learning in Europe and Central Asia

This online high-level exchange will take place on May 7th, from 10:00 to 11:30 am CET, and will entail representation from the Deputy Ministers in the region and key strategic partners engaged in supporting these efforts.

Recent statistics reveal a pressing reality: close to 50% of 3-5 year old children in Europe and Central Asia lack access to the invaluable benefits of preschool education. Recognizing this gap, there's a critical need to introduce flexibility within preschool education systems to rapidly expand coverage, while upholding quality standards and ensuring responsiveness to the needs of families and young children. Ongoing crises also highlight the need to build flexible, resilient systems that can pivot and adapt to evolving situations.

This webinar will:

  • Facilitate a high-level exchange, delving into how governments in Europe and Central Asia are leveraging diversification to introduce flexibility and scale systematically.
  • Officially launch UNICEF ECARO’s publication, which encapsulates invaluable experiences and lessons learned in this area.
  • Entail insightful discussions and reflections on the way forward, synthesizing key takeaways from our esteemed panelists, including high-level representatives from Ministries of Education from Ukraine and Uzbekistan, and strategic partners committed to ensuring high-quality preschool systems for all.

This dialogue constitutes an excellent opportunity to bridge policy and practice, bringing together Ministry representatives and partners, donors and stakeholders that have a prominent role in the field.
