Masterclass Series in Systems Thinking: Exploring Applications for Global ECD

We hear the importance of building and strengthening systems, but what do we really mean by it? What does a systems approach look like in practice and how can it support child development? How do we measure systems change? This is your opportunity to explore these questions and more with the world’s leading experts.

ECDAN invites you to deep dive into an array of systems thinking methodologies and tools through the Masterclass Series in Systems Thinking.

What can I expect from the Masterclass Series?

The Masterclass Series will bring together 20+ systems thinking and early childhood development (ECD) global experts across 14 free 90 minute live and interactive virtual masterclasses.

Each 90-minute session will include:

  • A deep-dive presentation on a particular systems thinking framework, method, tool, or approach which will cover what it is, how it is used, opportunities and challenges, and practical examples of utilization in the field.
  • A dialogue between a systems expert and ECD expert on applying the presented approach to ECD.
  • Interactive activities including polls and live Q&A to engage with the topic more deeply.
  • Access to related learning materials, worksheets, and resources on systems thinking and evaluation.
  • An opportunity to earn a systems thinking for ECD participation certificate.

Each session will also be recorded and hosted on a dedicated webpage on the ECDAN website for future access. You can also join their ECD Connect platform to continue discussions on the topic.

The series is free and open to everyone. It is designed for anyone, including practitioners, policymakers, and researchers interested in learning more about systems thinking and using systems approaches to advance child development.
