Photographs are valuable tools in early childhood education. They support children’s learning, development, and sense of belonging, as well as enhancing parental engagement. Photographs help to document learning, making it visible to parents, teachers and the children themselves. However, it is extremely important that photographs are used ethically, ensuring that they reflect meaningful learning experiences and respect the privacy and rights of children.
This webinar will explore the different ways of using photography in preschool education and various methods for sharing photographs. The session will use examples from the visually rich environment that is inherent in Reggio Emilia educational tradition, and will also take inspiration from a Bulgarian state kindergarten. The webinar will also discuss the normative and ethical considerations involved in using photographs for various purposes in kindergartens.
The webinar will include simultaneous translation in English.
