ISSA member the Centre for Education Initiatives in Latvia, offers courses on how to become a great parent.

Nowadays parents have become more active, motivated and willing to engage in the children's upbringing not only intuitively, but at a semi-professional level. Since 2012, the Center for Education Initiatives (CEI) has organized the ‘Parents School’ for parents of children in preschools in Jekabpils, Latvia.

From September-May 2017, 50 parents attended 10 lessons on children's development and learning. Parents learned about the importance of the play, how to build their children’s self-esteem, the role of fathers and how to cooperate with the educational institution.

"At the Parents School, we cannot and do not want to give ready recipes on what parents have to do or how to act in different situations. What we offer are incentives and anchor points for reflection on how to raise a happy child," CEI, says.
