"Supporting Families for Young Child Wellbeing" workshop in Georgia
Between June 5th and 8th 2017, ISSA's senior programme manager Zorica Trikic was in Georgia. She attended the Inclusive Education and Early Childhood Intervention Initiative Annual Networking Workshop that was held in Tbilisi, Georgia. Present were the inclusive education and early childhood intervention Open Society Foundation Early Childhood Programme’s grantees from seven countries. Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, Serbia, Tajikistan and Ukraine. The purpose of the workshop: helping the grantees to reflect on their achievements in providing services, leading policy work and planning their future interventions. Site visits to the OSF’s grantees in Georgia were also organized.
The workshop was organised around two strands: the first was devoted to grantees work on policy development, the second one about provision of services by grantees and quality of these services. Zorica presented ISSA-UNICEF's Resource modules for Home Visitors:" Supporting Families for Young Child Wellbeing". The specific focus was on the modules related to the role of the home visitors in providing support to parents and families and detecting children who might need additional support. Module 12: CHILDREN WHO DEVELOP DIFFERENTLY - children with disabilities or developmental difficulties; Module 13: DEVELOPMENTAL MONITORING AND SCREENING and Module 15: WORKING WITH OTHER SERVICES.
