Peer Learning Activity on pedagogical quality, Bucharest

Directors of childcare centers from five different countries -Belgium, Macedonia, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Romania-, met during a Peer Learning Activity (PLA) on 14 and 15 November in Bucharest. This PLA was organized by ISSA members BKK (Bureau Kwaliteit Kinderopvang/Foundation of Quality in Childcare) and Center for Education and Professional Development Step by Step Romania.

The goal of this PLA was to offer directors of childcare provisions from various countries the possibility to learn from each other, by discussing questions in the area of the strategic value of pedagogical quality. Keynote speaker Betsy van de Grift from BKK shared insights on this subject. The organizers facilitated several group work sessions, to support sharing and learning among participants. During the two days, the directors also visited three childcare facilities, engaging with the teachers and directors of those centers in rich discussions around quality. All this made a full and interesting program, supporting participants to return to their countries with new insights and motivated to work on follow up activities.
