The Home Visiting Workforce Needs Assessment Tool aims to help Ministries and government agencies reflect on the ways in which they can support personnel delivering home visiting programs across sectors for pregnant mothers and caregivers with children under 3. Drawing inspiration from the UNICEF Pre-Primary Diagnostic and Planning Tool, this tool is intended for countries with home visiting programs at either the sub-national or national levels.

The Early Childhood Workforce Initiative is launching the Home Visiting Workforce Needs Assessment Tool in six languages. The Tool was recently updated and translated into Arabic, French, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish after two pilots in Kenya and Bulgaria in 2019.

January 2020 has kicked-off a new phase of the Early Childhood Workforce Initiative, launched by ISSA and R4D in 2016 to support those who work with children ages 0 to 8 and their families. The Initiative will continue to enhance the knowledge base by developing several landscape analyses and begin work to facilitate the use of the Initative's assessment Tool.

Today, the Early Childhood Workforce Initiative launches an insightful report, Supporting the Early childhood Workforce at Scale: Preschool Education in Ukraine.  It is released at a critical moment for early childhood services in Ukraine. As recently, policymakers pushed for improving the quality of preschool education and encouraging inclusion in services.

This report, the second in the Early Childhood Workforce Initiative's Landscape Analysis Series, addresses the theme of competences and standards. An extensive review of published and grey literature yielded six findings related to the ways in which countries have used competences and standards to support early childhood systems.
