ECOS Thought Leadership Event: Strengthening Soft Skills in Practice

Soft skills shape how early childhood professionals connect, collaborate, reflect, and respond in complex everyday situations. They are essential for high-quality practice and meaningful professional learning, yet they remain some of the most difficult competencies to intentionally strengthen and sustain across systems.

Drawing on a recent EU-funded initiative focused on professional learning communities in ECEC, this ECOS thought leadership event explores practical approaches to strengthening soft skills through reflection, video-based learning, peer exchange, and communities of practice. The discussion will reflect on what worked, what challenges emerged, and what is needed for these competencies to truly stick, spread, and scale across the workforce.
