This International Roma Day, we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive — starting from the earliest years. Through CHAVORE (which means “children” in the Romani language), our initiative dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of vulnerable young children, particularly in Roma communities, we work alongside practitioners, families, and partners to create more inclusive, responsive early childhood systems.

This year, we are marking the day with the launch of the CHAVORE Quest—an interactive, multilingual experience available in five CHAVORE languages: https://chavore-quest.issa.nl/en. The Quest introduces a new way of supporting children’s mental health, well-being, and inclusion inviting users to explore, reflect, and learn through a more playful and participatory format.

Join the short interactive quest, access useful tools and a space to connect with peers.

Alongside the Quest, CHAVORE offers a free, self-paced online course available on the ECOS platform, designed for early childhood professionals working with young children and families. The course explores how to promote children’s mental health and emotional well-being through practical, everyday strategies — drawing on Psychological First Aid, trauma-informed approaches, and culturally responsive practice. With a strong focus on Roma communities and other children in vulnerable situations, it provides concrete tools and reflection opportunities that practitioners can directly apply in their work.
